Well I know this is EXTREMELY late - but thus is what happens when returning back to reality from vacation. Laundry, housework, homework, appointments and chauffeuring kids run your life. Anyway I digress. Here are the rest of the photos from vacation.
Friday started with the King family rising early desiring another horseback ride. Unfortunately to our dismay, upon arriving at the riding stable we were greeted with disappointment. The stables had decided that the forecast for the day warranted them to close! No horse riding! Now what to do with our day.
Upon returning to the campground, the adults conspired and came up with the perfect mix for a hot day, and last day of vacation. We decided to rent a boat and take on Lake George!
We packed a picnic lunch, suntan lotion, towels and bathing suits and headed out.
We rented a ponton boat and a tube and headed out onto the lake. First we headed into the narrow bays for some tubing. Well as we headed there we had our first laugh since mom did not enjoy the fast boat ride, mist in your face (I might say it felt refreshing). She nervously munched on chips. When we arrived Mikayla and grandpa quickly jumped into the middle of the lake to cool off while Andy attached the tube. We had our next laugh watching Nicholas try to figure out how to get onto the tube. He exhausted himself and got back into the boat, giving Andy the tube. We watched Andy bounce upon the waves and try to keep his bathing suit on!
Finally we gave Nick another chance - with success! Great smiles on the 2 guys faces. We decided to head to Sandy Bay. After anchoring the boat, we enjoyed our picnic lunch. We then jumped into the shallow water for some refreshing swimming. Grandma stayed onboard - we are still not sure why the ducks and seagulls were hovering over our boat and us in the water. Maybe it was the bread and chips grandma was throwing to them. Anyway we finally convinced grandma to come in - but boy did it take some coaxing.
Zack asked if he could sit on the tube while we were anchoring - he was having such a great time with it - so when we headed back I asked him if he would like to try tubing. We started very slowly and was met with a huge grin. In a little while he yelled - "We can go faster!" So we did. And again was met with a smile and a yell to go faster. So we did. And again we met his replies for faster. It was so great this vacation to watch Zack come out of his shell and enjoy vacation!
We went back to the campground and enjoyed hamburgers, hotdogs and kielbasa for dinner. We did some packing before heading to bed.
The trip home on Saturday was uneventful. We are home safe and sound......counting down to our next adventure.
